Protests in Somalia and Muslim world Against Anti-Islam Film

MOGADISHU Somalia (laanta.net)—Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Mogadishu, Somali capital on the last Friday, to express their anger over a film that insults Prophet Muhammad.

The film titled ‘Innocence of Muslims’ sparked a wave of protests in many Muslim countries, and in several cases the outrage ended with raids on U.S. embassies.

These riots began in Egypt and Libya and spread to Iran, Tunisia, Yemen, Lebanon, Oman, Sudan, Qatar and Indonesia and Somalia.

In Somalia, despite the persistent war situation and the distortions that this entails, most people profess Islam and fulfill their duties to that religion.

On Friday it was reported that the embassies of Germany and the UK were attacked in Sudan by irate citizens protesting the film, considering that offends Islam and its prophet Muhammad.

These diplomatic missions that are next to each other, were attacked with stones and security forces were overwhelmed by the crowd.

The anger of Muslims spread across the Middle East and North Africa against the offens
